Jordan is a small country with much history. Nowhere else in the world, so many epochs of history are represented on such a small area as they are in Jordan.

Traveling through Jordan is like taking a time machine through the history of mankind. Settlements dating back 10,000 years BC are found a few driving minutes from Roman cities of the Decapolis. Petra, the hidden capital of the Nabatean kingdom is located near mighty crusader castles, and castles of the Islamic era are hidden in the mighty Eastern desert.
Jesus Christ was baptized in the Jordan River at Bethany and John the Baptist was imprisoned and executed in Machaerus. Moses overlooked the holy land and was buried on Mt. Nebo and the oldest Mosaic map of the Holy land is found in Madaba.

But Jordan has so much more to offer.

The Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth lies 400 meters below sea level. The hot springs of Ma'in with their "magical" healing powers are hidden in the mountains and Lawrence of Arabia traveled through the majestic desert of  Wadi Rum to liberate Jordan's only port city of Aqaba.

The neighboring countries have just as much to offer. The Holy Land & Jerusalem, the Egyptian peninsula of Sinai, Syria and Lebanon, are all easily reachable from Jordan by air, ground or sea.
