Aqaba

When the sun, sea and fiction come into contact with an ancient ambience you will probably find your self in the setting of Aqaba. A complex beside the red sea fuelled a long time ago, by shipments rolling In and out of Aqaba’s port. The city is such a lovely place to visit. Warm temperatures, swaying palm trees and a place for relaxation, what’s not to like? Aqaba almost seems to change colour throughout the day along with the sunlight and surrounding mountains that are accompanied by a gentle northerly breeze. There is such a diverse range of activities also to be enjoyed in Aqaba. Water skiing, fishing parasailing, you name it, you are more than likely to find it within the city. A must see when visiting Aqaba or the surrounding area, is the stunning coral reefs found in a whole new world under the crystal-clear waters a little further down the coast. From delicate pinks to vibrant blues and greens this is not something to be missed. This is one of the things that makes Aqaba so unique to anywhere else in Jordan. In addition to the water sports available the archaeological side of the city is also very good. Places such as the Aqaba Fort and the world’s oldest church hold such interesting stories and intriguing history. The world’s oldest church is one of the most exciting recent discoveries. Archaeologists believe it to be the world’s oldest known purpose-built Christian church. It was built out of mud-brick stone in the late 3rd century AD and measures 26 by 16m.
